When disasters wreak havoc on a child’s environment and everything they know, they need to be prepared both physically and mentally in order to recover and be resilient, but how do they do that?

Good Fun for Bad Days Series

Available in English and Spanish

Given the opportunity, resources, and guidance, children have the capacity to meaningfully contribute to disaster preparedness and recovery activities, which aids in their rehabilitation and resilience to future events. Engaged and informed children have a greater sense of power over their circumstances. Playfully engaged children have a greater capacity to see challenges as being temporary rather than permanent. We created our Good Fun for Bad Days Series to serve as a communication and learning tool for kids and caregivers in planning for or responding to disasters and provide a kid-friendly, low-tech activity that keeps children engaged.
